Biotrē 1.0
Biotrē 2.0
Our Biotrē 1.0 bags are 60% compostable by weight. The brown, outer layer of the bag consists of cellulose derived from wood pulp, making it entirely compostable. While the inner clear liner of the bag is not compostable, it has been manufactured using an oxo-degrade additive to help break the bag down in 5-10 years, versus the 1000+ of traditional plastics in a landfill.
How to Compost the Biotrē 1.0:
Remove the one-way degassing valve
Place the bag into your home compost
10-12 weeks later, the inner liner will be ready to remove and be placed in any traditional waste bin
Our Biotrē 2.0 bags are 60% compostable by weight as well. The printed outer layer of the bag also consists of cellulose derived from wood pulp, making it entirely compostable. While the inner clear liner does not have the oxo-additive, it has been manufactured with nearly all plant-based, renewable Polyethylene made from sugar cane. Though it will not break down as quickly as the Biotrē 1.0, it uses more sustainable resources instead of fossil fuels like typical plastics.
How to Compost the Biotrē 2.0:
Remove the one-way degassing valve
Place the bag into your home compost
10-12 weeks later, the inner liner will be ready to remove and be placed in any traditional waste bin
